Ange Hardy Updated Bio
About Ange
Ange Hardy is a singer songwriter from Taunton who now lives in a village on the outskirts of Yeovil with her husband, her 7-year old daughter, and a lot of pets.
Ange taught herself to play the guitar, to sing, and to write her own music at around the age of 14. However she didn't believe she could make a career out of it until she became a regular on the Taunton “Open Mic†scene at the age of 22.
She recently opened the Piers Simon Appeal 'Home Farm Fest' in Chilthorne Domer, where she subsequently got to play a 45 minute acoustic set to Michael Eavis! She aspires to being as successful (yet grounded) as folk legend Kate Rusby, and her husband keeps on telling her that some day soon she'll either have a session with the BBC's Bob Harris or be on the Jools Holland show. She just has to be patient!
How the album came to exist
In 2008 Ange self recorded an 8-track album of original material entitled 'The Words to Write it All', which was enough to get her the attention of an independent record label.
Ever determined to follow her own path Ange turned down the label in preference to accepting private investment from an American investor and self-releasing and promoting her 14-track studio album 'Windmills and Wishes' under her own label: Story Records.
She was discovered by her American investor Tom Spademan on an internet forum, and if it wasn't for the constant reassurance and feedback she received online she would never have made it to the studio. Incidentally she also found her husband, house and cat on the internet.
About the album
Windmills and Wishes took six emotionally draining months to record at Beehive Studio's in Middlezoy.
